Job Description
Prepares and serves a wide variety of food following standardized recipes and proper portions in accordance with USDA regulations. Applies and maintains high standards of sanitation and personal hygiene. Operates and cleans all kitchen equipment, such as ranges, ovens, steam kettles, steam tables, mixers, choppers, dishwasher, etc. Receives general direction from the Nutrition Manager.
Job Requirements
-Works rapidly and efficiently in performing tasks.
-Works effectively with school personnel and students.
-Follows written recipes and oral instructions.
-Converts recipes to amount of food production needed.
-Applies and maintains high standards of sanitation and personal hygiene.
-Operates and cleans all kitchen equipment, such as, ranges, ovens, steam kettles, steam tables, mixers, choppers, dishwasher, etc.
-Stores food and supplies in accordance with instructions and assists in taking inventories.
-Ensures that all activities conform to district guidelines.
Training and/or Education: Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate.
Experience: Food service training and successful food service experience preferred.
