Welcome to Jefferson-Scranton Middle School
From: Karen Younie, Principal
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Jefferson-Scranton Middle School where Character Counts for all our students grades 5-8. Our middle school has a long tradition of academic excellence where we build upon the foundational skills and habits of learning established in the elementary grades.
Our core curriculum includes Language Arts, Literature, Social Studies, Math, and Science. Our state-of-the-art Synergistics Lab allows our students to explore many of the elective-type classes they will have a chance to take at the high school. In addition to the Synergistics Lab, our exploratory program includes art, computers, and music -all of which provide our students a well-rounded educational experience and helps prepare them for the academic rigor of high school classes.
Our curricular and extra-curricular activiites give our students opportunities to practice Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship - qualities we want all of our students to possess and to live on a daily basis. |
