When to Keep Your Child Home from School
Nurses' Notes

The following is Jefferson-Scranton Community School Districts’ policy for keeping your child home from school. These guidelines are for all illnesses:
• They have a fever of 99.6 with symptoms or any fever of 100 degrees or above
• Excessive coughing or sneezing
• Diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting
• Sore, reddened throat, swollen glands, especially with a fever
• Red, watering or mattery eyes
• Earache or drainage from the ears
• Large skin eruptions or rashes-especially with a fever
