Ideas to increase revenue and decrease expenditures needed

The 2010-2011 school district budget is very uncertain as the state of Iowa will be using a significant amount of federal money in order to provide funding for school districts in 2009-2010. However, it is unlikely that this federal money will be available to the state in 2010-2011. A Board work session was held on July 8th and involved a discussion of ideas to increase revenue and decrease expenditures. Since it was a work session, no decisions were made on any of the ideas.

The Board asked that I share this information with everyone in order to encourage further discussion and also hopefully generate more ideas.
